A Place in the Sun Live: A thrilling weekend of expert property advice in Birmingham, across the 20th – 22nd September 2024
Our A Place in the Sun Live exhibition returned to Birmingham’s NEC across the 20th to the 22nd of September, drawing thousands of eager house hunters ready to take the next step toward owning a property abroad. The event was buzzing with excitement as 5,909 visitors came through the doors, all united by one dream: finding their perfect place in the sun. Whether looking for beachfront getaways or countryside escapes, each attendee had their own vision, and this was the weekend to bring that vision to life!
For three action-packed days, international property experts from around the globe were on hand to offer guidance. From estate agents and lawyers to financial advisors and currency specialists, exhibitors represented countries like Spain, France, Portugal, Turkey, Cyprus, and the USA, sharing invaluable expertise. Visitors could dive deep into the property-buying process through seminars held across three stages – the Hub, the Seminar Theatre, and the French Village – gaining expert insights on everything from where to buy to how to navigate legal and financial hurdles.
Fans of the hit TV show A Place in the Sun were also treated to special appearances by presenters Jasmine Harman, Jean Johansson, and Laura Hamilton, who took the stage to share their personal experiences and behind-the-scenes stories. Jean was also reunited with past show house hunters Darren and Joanne from South Wales at the widely popular ‘A Place in the Sun Revisted’ session at the Hub where visitors heard more about their exciting journey on purchasing an apartment in Torre del Mar.
How did we do?
Our Birmingham show was met with an overwhelming response… but what did you think? Our survey showed that those who attended found the event incredibly valuable, propelling them closer with their dream of buying an overseas property.
We received around 280 responses to our survey to find out how we did over the weekend of the show and how it impacted our house-hunters. Here’s a snapshot of the feedback on how we did!

Meet our presenters
We were pleased to welcome our regulars Jasmine Harman and Laura Hamilton to A Place in the Sun Live Birmingham 2024. Special guest presenter also made an appearance on the Saturday to be reunited with Darren and Jo house hunters in our ‘A Place in the Sun Revisited’ session. All our presenters appeared on stage to talk about their experiences and our house hunters at the show had the chance to chat to them in person as they walked around the show.
