A Place in the Sun Live returned to Birmingham 22nd – 24th September for another fantastic weekend of overseas property advice provided by experts from around the world.
Over the course of the weekend we welcomed more than 5,200 house hunters through the doors of the NEC. Each had a different budget, ideal location and property type in mind, but they all had one thing in common – they’d been dreaming of finding their very own place in the sun, and had come ready to make that dream a reality! More than 80 exhibitors had flown in from across the globe, including estate agents, lawyers, financial advisers and currency experts from Spain, France, Portugal, Turkey, Cyprus, Greece, South Africa, Dubai the USA and more.
Each day had a packed seminar schedule taking place on three stages! Topics included everything from ‘Where and what to buy’ to tax and financial planning, how to get a mortgage abroad, how to retire abroad. We were also joined by A Place in the Sun presenters Jasmine Harman, Jonnie Irwin and Laura Hamilton! They shared behind the scenes secrets from the TV show, and offered their tips for finding the perfect property abroad, both on and off the stage!.
Our popular Meet the Buyers session returned to the stage on Saturday, when Jasmine Harman was reunited with her house hunters Steve and Sid who appeared in a recent episode of A Place in the Sun, which aired in September 2023. Jasmine helped them find their dream property in Fuerteventura and they told us all about their filming experience, and how the purchase process went after the cameras stopped rolling. The production crew were conducting screen tests for A Place in the Sun throughout the weekend too, we can’t wait to see some of those couples on our screens in the future.
How did we do?
Our Birmingham show was met with an overwhelming response… but what did you think? Our survey showed that those who attended found the event incredibly valuable, propelling them closer with their dream of buying an overseas property.
We received around 450 responses to our survey to find out how we did over the weekend of the show and how it impacted our house-hunters. Here’s a snapshot of the feedback on how we did!
